It has kindly been translated into <a title=\"Irish language | Wikipedia\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Irish_language\">Gaeilge (Irish language)<\/a> by Irish biographer and encyclopaedist Diarmuid Breathnach of Bray in County Wicklow, whom Martin Doyle has known for many years.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Born in 1930, Diarmuid was educated at <a title=\"About UCD | University College Dublin\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ucd.ie\/about-ucd\/\">University College Dublin<\/a> and became a librarian in Kilkenny, then a sound archivist and chief librarian at <a title=\"RT\u00c9 - Radio Telef\u00eds \u00c9ireann | Wikipedia\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Raidi%C3%B3_Teilif%C3%ADs_%C3%89ireann\">RT\u00c9<\/a> from 1974 to 1986. His major achievement is the compilation, with M\u00e1ire N\u00ed Mhurch\u00fa, of <em>Beathaisn\u00e9is<\/em>, a multi-volume dictionary of modern Gaelic culture. On May 17, 2002, the <a title=\"NUI | National University of Ireland\" href=\"http:\/\/www.nui.ie\/\">National University of Ireland<\/a> conferred honorary degrees \u2013 The Degree of Doctor of Celtic Studies \u2013 upon Diarmuid Breathnach and M\u00e1ire N\u00ed Mhurch\u00fa at the <a title=\"Maynooth University - National University of Ireland, Maynooth\" href=\"https:\/\/www.maynoothuniversity.ie\/\">National University of Ireland, Maynooth<\/a>.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Our heart-felt gratitude to Diarmuid Breathnach for his kind efforts and abundant patience &#8211; he is indeed a grand gentleman!
