Robert had just taken part in a concertina school with the renowned Clare musician <a title=\"Noel Hill (musician) | Wikipedia\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Noel_Hill_%28musician%29\">Noel Hill<\/a> in <a title=\"Ballyvaughan | Wikipedia\" href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Ballyvaughan\">Ballyvaughan<\/a>, and subsequently wrote an article about the concertina (an instrument that is colloquially known as \u2018the Clareman\u2019s Trumpet\u2019), and the musicians and instrument makers that are sprinkled liberally throughout Clare.
